Possible Amendments to the codes:
Mechanical Code:
1. Section 106.2—Discussion will need to identify work that will be exempt from permit. An
example could be boilers. Other agencies inspect this work and could be considered exempt
from permit. The City will need to retain inspectors that are competent and knowledgeable
about systems that are inspected that receive a building permit. Otherwise, the work
should be exempt from needing a permit.
2. Section 307.2.1 Condensate disposal—Indirect connection should be to a sewer system.
The Plumbing Board will be consulted.
