A RESOLUTION CALLING FOR A PUBLIC MEASURE TO BE INCLUDED ON THE
REGULAR ELECTION BALLOT FOR NOVEMBER 3, 2009
FOR VOTER APPROVAL OF CHANGING FORM OF MUNICIPAL GOVERNMENT
WHEREAS, THE City of Tiffin current form of government consists of Mayor:Council as
provided by Iowa Code 372.4.
WHEREAS, The City Council of the City of Tiffin declares its intent at future date by
Ordinance upon voter approval to change_ the current form, of government and add the position of
City Administrator/Manager.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED,- By the City Council of the City of Tiffin, Iowa;
SECTION 1. The City Council of Tiffin, Iowa requests the County Commissioner of
Elections to submit to the voters in Johnson County a Public Measure to allow the City Council at a
future date by Ordinance to add the position of a City Administrator/Manager.
SECTION 2. That the,City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to provide the request of
the Public Measure to the County Commissioner of Elections of Johnson County and to the Board
of Supervisors of Johnson County.
Section 3. Public Measure A: Shall the following public measure be adopted?
Yes or No''
Summary: To authorize the City Council of Tiffin to change the form of
Government by Ordinance from'Mayor-Council to Mayor -
Council with appointed City Administrator/Manager.
Passed and approved this16th day of September 2009.

MUNICIPAL GOVERNMENT seconded by Councilperson Bartels.
