Ironwood Tavern Celebrates Grand Opening in Leesburg
New restaurant highlights “the art of cooking with wood”
Leesburg, VA (February 24, 2012) – At 11:00 a.m.,
on Wednesday, February 29, 2012, Town of
Leesburg officials will hold a ribbon cutting
ceremony for the grand opening of Ironwood
Tavern, located at 962 Edwards Ferry Road NE.
Leesburg Mayor Kristen C. Umstattd will officiate.
Owner and Loudoun County resident Sam Avadhi
worked with consultant Artie Simcox to develop
the concept and design of Ironwood Tavern. Both
men have extensive restaurant ownership and
management experience. Peter Mirguet, also a seasoned restaurant professional with ownership
and management experience, is the General Manager. David Judge and Paul Kincaid are the
assistant managers.
Ironwood Tavern highlights the art of cooking with wood to enhance bold flavors not found with
other cooking methods. The menu incorporates local, seasonal products, such as beef, pork,
poultry, seafood and fresh produce, and features two dozen craft beers.
“The support and enthusiasm from the community for our local business has been humbling and
overwhelming. I could not have picked a better place to start my business,” said Avadhi. “A lot of
talented and hard working people have made this possible.”
“Ironwood Tavern’s innovative approach and depth of culinary experience – and the sixty jobs they
are creating – are welcome additions to Leesburg’s independent restaurant marketplace,” said
Economic Development Manager Marantha Edwards.
