AUTHORIZING A LEASE BETWEEN THE TOWN OF LEESBURG
AND JOHN MYERS FOR THE LEASE OF THE HIGH SCHOOL SITE
ON ROUTE 621
WHEREAS, the Town of Leesburg is the owner of property located on Route 621 to be
dedicated to Loudoun County for construction of a new high school and a park to be owned by
the town and;
WHEREAS, at the time of this purchase, the property was being leased to John Myers by
the previous owners for agricultural purposes; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Myers has requested the Town Council enter into a lease of the property
to allow him to continue to use the property for agricultural purposes until it is developed by the
county for the new high school.
THEREFORE, RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia as
follows:
SECTION I. The town attorney is authorized to prepare a lease between the town and
John Myers for the lease of the property acquired by the town for the new high school and park
site.
SECTION II. The lease shall be for a period not to exceed June 30, 2000.
SECTION III. The lease shall be subject to the approval of the Loudoun County School
Board.

SECTION IV. The rent during the lease period shall be at the rate paid to the previous
