DESiGNaTiNG ISLANDS OF CARTERET ~VENUE ~S
"AVENUE OF F~,.ME" ~ND ESTABLiSHiNG COI~fl~ITTEE
WHEREAS, the Mayor and Council is desirous of creating an Avenue
of Fame to honor citizens who have made substantial contributions
to the Borough of Carteret; and
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the Governing Body to create an
outdoor display detailing the accomplishments of the individuals
chosen, and to create a mechanism for this selection;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that this Mayor and Council hereby
designate the islands of Carteret Avenue as an "Avenue of Fame";
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a committee of seven (7) members
shall be appointed by the Mayor, to serve a four (4) year term to
coincide with the term of the Mayor;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the initial committee shall be
appointed upon passage of this resolution and said terms shall
expire on December 31, 1998.
