AUTHORIZING APPROVAL OF
PARK MASTER PLAN
PRESENTED October 12, 1999
ADOPTED October 12, 1999
AN AMENDMENT TO THE IDA LEE
WHEREAS, the Director of Parks and Recreation proposed an amendment to the Ida Lee Park
Master Plan to preserve additional open space at the park; and
WHEREAS, the Parks and Recreation Advisory Commission endorsed the proposed amendment
to the Ida Lee Park Master Plan; and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission recommended denial of the proposed amendment to the
Ida Lee Park Master Plan; and
WHEREAS, the Town Council held a public hearing on the proposed amendment to the Ida Lee
Park Master Plan on September 14, 1999; and
WHEREAS, the Town Council Planning and Zoning Committee has recommended approval of
the proposed amendment to preserve additional open space at Ida Lee Park.
THEREFORE, RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia as follows.
The Council of the Town of Leesburg hereby approves an amendment to the Ida Lee Park Master
Plan to delete the planned football field, outdoor basketball courts, and related parking in order to
preserve additional open space at Ida Lee Park.
