CARGILL SALT

ROAD SALT PURCHASE CONTRACT TO
WHEREAS, on October 18, 1999, three (3) sealed bids were received for the 1999/2000 Road
Salt Purchase Contract; and
and
WHEREAS, the summary of the bids received is as follows:

$35.40 per ton
$36.75 per ton
$39.00 per ton

$23,400.00
WHEREAS, the bids were evaluated in accordance with the town Purchasing Policy; and
WHEREAS, Cargill Salt is the lowest and responsive and responsible bidder for this purchase;
WHEREAS, staff recommends award of the 1999/2000 road salt purchase to Cargill Salt for the
purchase or approximately 600 tons of road salt for the unit price of $35.40.
THEREFORE, RESOLVED by the Council of the'Town of Leesburg in Virginia as follows:
The purchase contract for road salt for fiscal year 2000 is herebY awarded to Cargill Salt for the
unit price of $35.40 per ton.
