The BREWSTER AGRICULTURAL COMMISSION
Held Thursday, June 14, 2007 at 7:00 p.m.
At the Brewster Town Office Building, 2198 Main Street, Room A
Present: Peter Herrmann, Heather Mangelinkx, Julie Trzcinski„ Dave Carlson and Jack
Latham
Mr. Herrmann called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.
Minutes of the May 10, 2007 meeting were accepted and unanimously approved by the
board.
Mr. Hemnann brought up the discussion about term limits, he and Julie Trzcinski were
both up for renewal. Discussion continued about what the committee has accomplished
since forming in December 2005. So far we have the fire department agreeing to burning
permits for agriculture, we have the selectmen understanding the purpose of a by-law, we
had an informative meeting with Larry McCormick and Victor Staley, Nancy Sheridan
managed to resolve her barn permit issue and we have started mapping the farms in
Brewster. The committee has decided that we should focus on one goal, presently it will
be to continue mapping the farms. We have also decided to continue with our monthly
meetings (2"d Thursday of the month) and both Peter and Julie will continue to be on the
board.
The selectmen from the Town of Barnstable want us to write a letter about them creating
an agriculture commission and the S.E. Mass Agriculture Commission want us to provide
something for their website (our by-law and work plan). Mr. Carlson will write a letter to
the Barnstable selectmen.
Mr. Carlson motioned to adjourn the meeting at 8:45, Mr. Latham seconded and all
agreed.
