The BREWSTER AGRICULTURAL COMMISSION
Held Thursday, August 9, 2007 at 7:00 p.m.
At the Brewster Town Office Building, 2198 Main Street
Present: Peter Herrmann, Heather Mangelinkx„ Dave Carlson, Rebecca Howes and Jack
Latham
Mr. Hemnann called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.
Minutes of the June14, 2007 meeting were accepted and unanimously approved by the
board.
Mr. Hernnann brought up the issue that we need a new vice chair to help him with his
duties. Heather Mangelinkx will send out cards to the farmers that have responded to our
survey to tell them when our meetings are held and that we are looking for members for
the Agricultural board to fill the vacancies. It is suggested that Rebecca Howes be made
a full member instead of an alternate. We need to find out what the town farmers would
like us to do for them and this should be discussed if we can get them to show up at a few
of our meetings. It was also suggested we don't hold meetings in the summer due to
everyone's lack of time.
Dave Carlson will continue with the map, Rebecca Howes will get him a list of names of
farmers to him. It was discussed if locating these farms on a map would not be acceptable
to the farmers so it was decided we would not put names and addresses on the map just
show the land area and the crop that is raised in the area.
Ms. Mangelinkx motioned to end the meeting at 9:15, Mr Carlson seconded and all
agreed.
