The BREWSTER AGRICULTURAL COMMISSION
Held Thursday November 15, 2007 at 7;00 p.m.
At the Brewster Town Office Building, 2198 Main Street, Room B
Present: Peter Hemnann, Heather Mangelinkx, Julie Trzcinski, and Dave Carlson
Mr. Herrmann called the meeting to order at 7:05 p.m.
Minutes of the October 18, 2007 meeting were accepted and unanimously approved by
the board.
Mr. Herrmann reported that Irene Winkler is still interested in receiving our agricultural
bylaw draft and work plan. We will be sending her our map and manure plan when
completed. Meanwhile we will send her the charter and bylaw draft and let her know we
are working on mapping the farms and a manure management plan.
Ms. Trzcinski reported that we will be going before the selectmen at 7:30 pm on
November 19~' regarding having the dump take manure for free, as Harwich, Orleans and
Dennis already do. Mr. Miller and 1VIs. Trzcinski will attend that meeting.
Mr. Hemnann reported that there is a Mass Agricultural Conference in Ludlow on
February 9, 2008 if anyone is interested in attending. He also brought up that there is a
meeting about Long Pond regarding an issue with the spraying of the cranberry bogs
polluting the pond. Dave Carlson will call Jack Latham as this is an issue that the
cranberry association should be the ones checking on this problem.
Ms. Trzcinski motioned to adjourn the meeting at 8:OOpm, Ms Mangelinkx seconded and
all agreed.
