A RESOLUTION:
CONFIRMING THE TOWN MANAGER'S APPOINTMENT
OF A CHIEF OF POLICE
WHEREAS, a recruitment
conducted by the Town Manager,
Director of Finance, consultant J.
from Arlington County; and
and selection process has been professionally
with the assistance of the Director of Personnel,
Hamilton Lambert and retired Chief Smokey Stover
WHEREAS, Section 3-6 of the Leesburg Town Charter states that the municipal
manager shall appoint, with the advice and consent of the council, a Chief of Police, who
shall serve at the pleasure of the municipal manager; and
WHEREAS, it is the recommendation of the Town Manager that the appointment
of Joseph Price be confirmed.
THEREFORE, RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia
as follows:
The Leesburg Town Council hereby consents to the appointment of Joseph Price
as the Chief of Police for the Town of Leesburg, effective March 1, 2000.
