HomeMy Public PortalAbout2000_03_14_r057The Town of Leesburg, rg ma PRESENTED March 14, 2000 RESOLUTION NO. 2000-57 ADOPTED March 14, 2000 A RESOLUTION: DENYING THE FEE WAIVER REQUEST BY THE TRANSCENDENTAL ARTS COUNCIL IN THE AMOUNT OF $650 FOR USE OF IDA LEE PARK WHEREAS, the Transcendental Arts Council requested a waiver of fees in the amount of $650 for the use of Ida Lee Park for the "Umbrella Offering" event scheduled May 6, 2000; and WHEREAS, the "Umbrella Offering" event has not previously been held in Leesburg; and WHEREAS, the "Umbrella Offering" event will be open to the public upon paid admission; and WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation will incur fees in the amount of $650 for set-up time on Saturday, May 5th, tear-down/clean-up time on Sunday, May 7th, and use of the park all day on Saturday, May 6, 2000; and WHEREAS, the Parks and Recreation Advisory Commission recommends against the approval of fee waivers; and WHEREAS, the Director of Parks and Recreation recommends against the approval of the fee waiver request; and WHEREAS, the Leesburg Town Council hereby denies the request by the Transcendental Arts Council in the amount of $650.00 for use of Ida Lee Park; and RESOLUTION: -2- DENYING THE FEE WAIVER TRANSCENDENTAL ARTS COUNCIL REQUEST WHEREAS, it is the recommendation of the Town Manager that the request for a $100 donation be deferred to be continued in the proposed FY 2001 budget. THEREFORE, RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia as follows: The fee waiver request by the Transcendental Arts Council in the amount of $650.00 is hereby denied, and the request for a $100 donation is deferred to the FY 2001 budget.
