PLACE: Brewster Town Office Building, 2198 Main Street, Room A PRESENT: Robert Miller, Herb Montgomery, Richard Kosinski, Jeff Tubman, Donald Poole, Charles Sumner Call to Order Chairman Miller called the meeting to order at 7:30 pm Town Hall HVAC Study Jeff Tubman reviewed the study of the Town Hall HVAC feasibility report. He stated Jillian Douglass has sent a letter on August 7, 2007 to the engineering firm asking for additional information and clarification. Ed Swiniarski mentioned that the Town should consider solar panels for the new water department facility. Mr. Sumner indicated that this was the wrong place to be sharing this information and Ed Swiniarski really should contact Paul Hicks as soon as possible to share this information relative to the new facility plans. There is a separate group managing this project. Mr. Tubman stated relative to the Town Hall, the Alternative Energy Committee felt that the geothermal solution will require additional work. They hope to have the updated report within a month. It appears that both committees will have to work collaboratively on this project. The Alternative Energy Committee is also evaluating solar panels on the Golf Department's cart storage barn. Council on Agin Herb Montgomery and Bob Miller went to the HDC meeting on the window replacement project for the Old Town Hall. The Old Kings Highway Committee issued a certificate of appropriateness for the project. We also submitted an application to the CPC/Historical Committee for funding assistance. We are waiting for a meeting date on the grant application. BNAC Minutes of August 8, 2007 Page 1 of 2 Eddy Elementary School Bob Miller met with Barry Schofield relative to the problematic trim board. The trim is rotting and needs to be replaced throughout the structures. Currently it is projected to be undertaken in a phased approach. Bob and Jeff will review the problem. We may want to undertake the work a little more rapidly in order reduce damage and additional costs. We also need to review the fasteners on the roof handler units. We have suffered a series of problems with these units. Finally there is a problem with the parking lot light poles, where a number of the old units have failed and need to be replaced. We received an estimate from Reilly Electrical Contractors, Inc. to replace the old units with either a fiberglass or an aluminum type pole. Bob and Jeff will continue to work with Barry to evaluate this concept. We also received a report from MIIA recommending the replacement of the school bleachers. The Committee will ask Jillian Douglass for additional information on the nature of the problem with the equipment. The next meeting will be on September 12, 2007 at 7:30 pm. Respectfully submitted, Charles L. Sumner Approved: Date Signed: Z~: ~ t; 6 L ~dW 80. BNAC Minutes of August 8, 2007 Page 2 of 2
