A RESOLUTION:
PRESENTED April 25, 2000

NAMING THE IZAAK WALTON PARK SITE, "OLDE IZAAK
WALTON PARK"
WHEREAS, in December, 1999 the Town Council approved a long-term lease
agreement with Failmezger Investments to lease approximately 21 acres of land for use
as a public park; and
WHEREAS, it is appropriate to officially name the park site to clearly designate it
as a landmark on future maps and for the general public; and
WHEREAS, the Leesburg Parks and Recreation Advisory Commission discussed
several names for the park and endorsed "Olde Izaak Walton Park"; and
WHEREAS, the Director of Parks and Recreation recommends approval of the
name "Olde Izaak Walton Park."
THEREFORE, RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia
as follows:
The Izaak Walton park site is hereby named the "Olde Izaak Walton Park."
PASSED this 25th day of April 2000.
