Call to order Bob Miller called to order the regular meeting of the Town of Brewster: Building Needs & Assessment Committee at 7:30pm on December 11, 2007 in Brewster Town Hall. II. Roll call The following BNAC members were present: Bob Miller, Jeff Tubman, Herb Montgomery, Rich Kosinski, and Charlie Sumner. Alternative energy committee members: Jillian Douglass and Deane Keuch were present. III. Approval of minutes from last meeting Bob Miller distributed the minutes from the last meeting. The minutes were approved as written. IV. Open issues a) Council on Aging Window replacement Bob Miller to attend/coordinate a kick-off meeting for windows replacement. The meeting will be with the project contractor, architect & other involved parties. It will be determined if weekly oversight meetings will be necessary. b) Stony Brook School The problematic compressor will be replaced at a cost of approximately seven thousand dollars. Eighteen thousand dollars have been approved for this repair/replacement. Bob Miller will report back with additional information regarding unit venting. c) Eddy School Outside trim Architectural services for the trim replacement are being sought at this time & information is scheduled to be back to Charlie Sumner by 12/26/2007. d) Town Hall HVAC replacement Jeff is working with USGS to see if the town taking ownership of the USGS wells is feasible & beneficial to the town. - Determinations need to be made as to what direction should be taken - heat pump /solar /turbine /boiler, etc. before schematic design can begin e) HVAC Golf Pavilion Construction & bid documents were not complete and we will be looking for a rebate from the folks that prepared the documents. Jeff reported that some necessary items (e.g.: sprinkler heads) were not included in the drawings when sent out to bid. Bids should be rewarded within 30 days of town meeting -May Stn (1St Monday of May). Golf cart storage facility Solar panels are still an option. Jillian will get this item on the selectmen's agenda to determine if this warrants further investigation. Cape Light Energy Compact will perform a review to determine the feasibility and will follow up with the contractor to work on rebates, etc. f) Drummer Boy Park -Bandstand Maintenance recommendations: Bandstand Several balusters have been realized as needing replacement. Town hall maintenance (Tom Thatcher) should be able to handle repairs. Gift Shop A new roof is needed. Tom Thatcher (town hall maintenance) to handle inquiries for bids; and an inquiry to Cape Cod Tech, to see what the costs may be & if they may be available to do the work. g) Fire Station Charlie was able to obtain a copy of how Dennis did their request for proposal, which included design services. This may provide a model for the Brewster fire station. h) Land for Tennis Courts, Ball Field and Basketball Courts - Deferred to next meeting. V. New business None presented at this time. VI.
