THE CITY OF BEL AIRE, KANSAS
ORD I NANCE NO. I 8' C,
AN ORDINANCE RELATING TO THE TAKING OF
FISH FROM WATERS WITHIN BEL AIRE, KANSAS
AND PROVIDING PENALTIES THEREFORE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF BEL AIRE,
KANSAS:
Section 1.
Illegal Fishing
It is illegal for any person sixteen (16) to sixty-five (65)
years of age to take or attempt to take fish from any city, state,
or federal waters within the corporate limits of the City of Bel
Aire, Kansas without a va 1 id fishing 1 icense from the Kansas
Department of Wildlife and Parks.
It is further illegal for any person over fifteen (15) years
of age to take or attempt to take fish from any city, state, or
federal waters within the corporate limits of the City of Bel Aire,
Kansas without a valid fishing permit from the City of Bel Aire,
Kansas in his/her possession. The permit shall be displayed in a
visible place on his/her person while fishing.
Section 2.
Daily Creel And Minimum Size Limits
It is unlawful for any person to take fish from any city,
state, or federal waters within the corporate limits of the City of
Bel Aire, Kansas in violation of the following daily creel and
minimum size 1 imi ts. Further, no person may exceed a combined
total of five (5) black bass, channel catfish, walleye, and wipers.

Section 3.
Permit Issuance
All Bel Aire fishing permits shall be single day permits. No
more than twenty-five (25) City of Bel Aire fishing permits may be
issued for any single day. City of Bel Aire fishing permits may be
obtained no earlier than five (5) days prior to the authorized date
of use at the Bel Aire City Hall, 4551 N. Auburn, Bel Aire, Kansas,
during the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on weekdays. However,
non-residents of Bel Aire, Kansas may only obtain one (1) daily
fishing permit every five (5) days.
Section 4.
Permit Fee
A fee of $2.00 shall be charged for each fishing permit issued
by the City of Bel Aire, Kansas. However, the fee shall be waived
for those persons over the age of 65 years old.
Section 5.
Penalty
Any person convicted of a violation of any provision of this
Ordinance shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and subject to a fine
not to exceed five hundred dollars ($500.00).
Section 6.
Effective Date
This Ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and
after its publication in the official city newspaper.
