RESOLUTION NO. 2000-110 ADOPTED June 13:2000
A RESOLUTION: APPROVING A POI.E SIGN FOR THE HOLTZMAN PROPERTY AT
148 CATOCTIN CIRCLE, S.E.
WHEREAS, Council has adopted a capital improvements project for Catoctin Circle from
the intersection of South King Street to the intersection with South Street; and
WHEREAS, these improvements require the removal of an exiting monument sign at 148
Catoctin Circle, S.E.; and
WHEREAS, when unusual building site conditions prohibit the ability to obtain effective
signage, the Zoning Administrator may issue sign permits which comply with the intent of this
Article upon authorization from the Town Council; and
WHEREAS, due to unusual site constraints, the monument sign cannot be effectively
relocated on the property and the Zoning Administrator recommends that a pole sign be erected in
its place; and
WHEREAS, the public necessity, convenience, general welfare and good zoning practice
require the proposed authorization.
THEREFORE, RESOLVED by the Council of the Town Leesburg in Virginia as follows:
SECTION I. Authorization is hereby given for a pole sign to be erected at 148 Catoctin
Circle, S.E. The following limitations regarding the sign shall apply:
1. The pole sign shall be no taller than 19'-8".
2. The area of the signage shall not exceed 39.3 square feet.

3. The sign shall be comprised of (1) an oval logo sign (which reads "AMOCO" and
includes a torch motif) approximately 5'-2" tall and 76" wide; (2) a gasoline price
sign approximately 44" tall by 66" wide; and (3) a 14' center mount pole to which the
logo sign and price sign are attached.
