AWARD OF A CONTRACT FOR ENGINEERING AND DESIGN OF
THE FORT EVANS ROAD IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT TO
MICHAEL BAKER JR., INC. IN THE AMOUNT OF $94,904.00
WHEREAS, the FY00 Capital Improvement Program includes projects for improving
Fort Evans Road; and
WHEREAS, in response to a Request for Proposals for engineering and design of the
project, the Town received proposals from the following engineering firms:
Michael Baker Jr., Inc.
· CTI Consultants, Inc.
· William H. Gordon & Associates, Inc.
· Herbert, Rowland & Grubic, Inc.
· Paciulli Simmons & Associates, Ltd.
WHEREAS, proposals were evaluated by a selection committee in accordance with the
requirements of the Town Purchasing Policy; and
WHEREAS, Michael Baker Jr., Inc. was judged best by the selection committee to
perform the work; and
WHEREAS, fee negotiations with Michael Baker Jr., Inc. were concluded following
agreement upon the scope of the work submitted by the consultant; and
WHEREAS, the cost for the work has been established at $94,904.00 for the Fort Evans
Road Improvements project; and
WHEREAS, sufficient funds are available in the capital project account; and

THE FORT EVANS ROAD IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT TO
MICHAEL BAKER JR., INC. IN THE AMOUNT OF $94,904.00
WHEREAS, the Contracts Administrator and the Director of Engineering and Public
Works recommend award of a contract for the Fort Evans Road Improvements project to
Michael Baker Jr., Inc.
THEREFORE, RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia as
follows:
The Town Manager is authorized to execute a contract with Michael Baker Jr., Inc. in the
amount of $94,904.00 for the engineering and design of the Fort Evans Road Improvements
project.
PASSED this 27th day of June 2000.
