AUTHORIZING THE TOWN MANAGER TO SIGN THE
AGREEMENT ESTABLISHING THE NORTHERN VIRGINIA
CRIMINAL JUSTICE ACADEMY THUS MAKING THE
TOWN OF LEESBURG A FULL FLEDGED MEMBER OF
SAD BODY.
WHEREAS, the Department of Criminal Justice Services for the Commonwealth of
Virginia establishes specific legal training requirements for police officer to include both entry
level and periodic in-service training; and
WHEREAS, the Northern Virginia Criminal Justice Training Academy provides high
quality professional law enforcement training that meets or exceeds the state mandated training;
and
WHEREAS, the Northern Virginia Criminal Justice Training Academy provides high
value training in return for town contributions and its proximity has minimal impact on
department operational requirements; and
WHEREAS, the Town Manager and Chief of Police both recommend participation in this
agreement.
THEREFORE, RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia as
follows:
membership of the Town of Leesburg in the
Academy.
PASSED this 27th day of June 2000
The Town Manager shall sign the Agreement on behalf of the Town Council authorizing
Northem Virginia Criminal Justice Training
