1. Call to Order
Wes Doerhoff acted as chair with a quorum present and called the meeting to order at 10:05
am.
2. Review and approve minutes from the meeting held on November 15,2016.
The minutes were approved.
3. Old Business
none
4. Continue discussion adoption of the code with proposed amendments.
Discussed items 6 and 15 and made recommendations. There was also a lengthy discussion on a
Board of Appeals and the future review of Chapter 1.
5. New Business—next meeting assignment.
The committee will continue review the list of proposed amendments.
6. Public Comments
No public comments were made.
7. Next meeting date?^'December 20th?
The next meeting date will be December 20, 2016.

The meeting adjourned at 11:59 am.
2015 Existing Building Code and Commentary possible amendments:
1. Section 105.2-refer to Sections 706(reroofing)and 707.2 for addition or replacement of
roofing or replacement of equipment-what is exempt from permit? (Defer to Steering
Committee)
2. Section 401.1.1-Code-change "shall"to"may";Commentary-change"must"to"should"
3. Section 101.2.3-What are the existing seismic force categories for Jefferson City?
4. Section 406.1--Code-change"shall"to"may";Commentary-change "must"to"should"
-reason is for historic buildings for grants.
5. Section 408.3-Add a 4th exception-"4. Historic districts." Note-does this include
Landmarks?
6. Section 702.5 702.4-Eliminate window fall protcction devices-reference ASTM F 2090.
Delete reference to the IRC in the main paragraph and delete item 3.2 of the section. (OK)
7. Section 705.1.8-Question the need for number of Type A units that are actually required
versus mandatory.
8. Section 708.1-delete section -- IECC compliance required (OK)
9. Section 811.1--delete section --IECC compliance required (OK)
10. Section 908.1--delete section --IECC compliance required (OK)
11. Section 1002.1-modify the last sentence of the first paragraph to "...,the building or only
the affected part of the building shall comply..."
12. Section 1012.8-delete or soften to"should"from "shall"
13. Section 1106.1-delete section since it refers to the IECC(OK)
14. Chapter 12-review again with respect to what is"historic."
15. Section 1401.2-What date willbe inserted? Delete reference to date. This will allow
performance analysis on any building-regardless of when it was built. (OK)
16. Section 1401.2.5-review accessibility requirements.
17. Section 1401.4.1-should this section state"...structural analysis by an engineer..."?
18. The appendix will not be adopted (OK)
