A RESOLUTION: DEFERRING THE RECEIVING AND OPENING OF CABLE
TEI.EVISION FRANCHISE BIDS UNTIL SEPTEMBER 26, 2000
WHEREAS, public notices of the town's intent to consider a new cable television
franchise were advertised for the August 8, 2000 town council meeting; and
WHEREAS, the Cable Television Advisory Commission, town staff, and Rice, Williams
Associates are still negotiating a few of the franchise provisions with the corporate attorneys of
our current cable provider, Adelphia; and
WHEREAS, staff anticipates bringing the ordinance and franchise to the September 11
work session for discussion, and to the September 26 council meeting for consideration.
THEREFORE, RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia as
follows:
That the receiving and opening of cable franchise bids shall be deferred until the regular
meeting of the Town Council on September 26, 2000.
