Minutes March 14, 2007
Present: Elliot Carr, Rollie Bassett, Paul Hush, Bill Reyburn, Elizabeth Taylor, Roy
Robinson
1. Minutes - January 24, 2007- not approved, tabled. Need to bring back with summarized
sections.
2. Article review — discussion of housing summary
MOTION: To forward CPC Article as written to Town Meeting:
Moved by Paul Hush, second Roy Robinson
All "AYE"
3. CPA Roundtable Meeting:
Discussion of meeting. Florence Seidin spoke about affordable housing in Chatham. They provide
money for a Housing Fund. The % from the state is down to 70-75%. Members should contact
senators and representatives to ask them to support increasing the percentage for CPA.
4. CPA Coalition Membership — Bill for $2,500.00
Review of letter from Stuart Saginor and the Community Preservation Coalition, copies of their
brochure.
MOTION: Send in$2,500 dues to Coalition
Moved by Hush, second by Bassett

5. Letter from Theresa Lamperti: re- Oral History Preservation Project. Members asked to have
her come to a meeting to discuss the issues she brings up in her letter. The CPC would like a copy of
Sue Carr's response to the letter.

6. Request for money for a Stony Brook School playground for pre-school children
$2,500
Carr: Is this an appropriate use of CPC funds? Shouldn't the School Committee be doing this?
This is not land bought with CPC money. The CPC should contact Stuart at the Coalition and DOR to
find out if we can use CPC funds this way.
Bassett: The school committee spends money on education, not recreation. Does this structure fit
within our description of money used for recreation?
MOTION: Send application to the Recreation Committee

7. When membership money is sent in, attach a letter with the CPC questions.
