A RESOLUTION:
AWARDING A CONTRACT TO BUCHART-HORN, INC., IN
THE AMOUNT OF $215,012 TO PROVIDE CONSTRUCTION
MANAGEMENT SERVICES FOR THE IDA LEE PARK
RECREATION CENTER EXPANSION PROJECT
WHEREAS, in May 2000, the Town of Leesburg Department of Parks and
Recreation issued a Request for Proposals (RFP) soliciting firms interested in providing
construction management services for the Ida Lee Park Recreation Center expansion
project; and
WHEREAS, on May 26, 2000, six proposals were received in response to the
RFP; and
WHEREAS, on June 16, 2000, the Selection Committee met and evaluated each
of the six proposals, selecting three firms to continue in the process; and
WHEREAS, on June 23, 2000, the Selection Committee interviewed Buchart
Horn Incorporated, Construction Dynamics Group, and the Alpha Corporation, and upon
completion of the interviews, the Selection Committee recommended Buchart Horn
Incorporated; and
WHEREAS, the RFP process and fee negotiations were conducted in accordance
with the Virginia Public Procurement Act and Town of Leesburg procurement policies;
and

WHEREAS, the Director of Parks and Recreation recommends approval of the
award of contract to Buchart Horn Incorporated in the amount of $215,012 to provide
construction management services for the Ida Lee Park Recreation Center expansion
project.
THEREFORE, RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia
as follows:
The Town Manager is hereby authorized to enter into a contract, in a form
approved by the Town Attorney, with Buchart Horn Incorporated in the amount of
$215,012 to provide construction management services for the Ida Lee Park Recreation
Center expansion project.
