RESOLUTION NO. 2000-177 ADOPTED September 12, 2000
A RESOLUTION: APPROVING THE LOCATION AND MAJOR DESIGN FEATURES
OF THE EAST MARKET STREET WIDENING PROJECT FROM
EAST LOUDOUN STREET TO SYCOLIN ROAD
WHEREAS, a Location and Design Public Hearing was conducted on March 30, 2000 in
the Town of Leesburg Municipal Government Center by representatives of the Commonwealth
of Virginia, Department of Transportation after due and proper notice for the purpose of
considering the proposed location and design of East Market Street Project Number U000-253-
V08, PE101, RW201, C501 in the Town of Leesburg at which drawings and other pertinent
information were made available for public inspection in accordance with state and federal
requirements; and
WHEREAS, all persons and parties in attendance were afforded full opportunity to
participate in said public hearing; and
WHEREAS, representatives of the Town of Leesburg were present and participated in
said hearing; and
WHEREAS, the Council had previously requested the Virginia Department of
Transportation to program this project; and
WHEREAS, the Council has considered all such matter; and
WHEREAS, the Director of Engineering and Public Works recommends approval of the
location and major design features of the East Market Street Widening Project as presented at the
Public Hearing.
A RESOLUTION:

APPROVING THE LOCATION AND MAJOR DESIGN FEATURES
OF THE EAST MARKET STREET WIDENING PROJECT FROM
EAST LOUDOUN STREET TO SYCOLIN ROAD
THEREFORE, RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia as
follows:
SECTION I. The Town of Leesburg hereby approves the location and major design
features of the proposed project as presented at the Public Hearing.
SECTION II. The Town of Leesburg requests the Virginia Department of Transportation
to allow the Town of Leesburg to acquire all rights-of-way and easements necessary for this
project and process to construction.
