The City Council of Medina, Minnesota met in special session on June 19, 2012 at 6:00
p.m. in the City Hall Chambers. Mayor Crosby presided.
I. ROLL CALL
Members present: Crosby, Martinson, Pederson, Siitari and Weir.
Members absent:
Also present: City Planner Dusty Finke, Public Works Superintendent Steve Scherer,
Police Chief Ed Belland, City Engineer Tom Kellogg, WSB Water Consultant Tom
Roushar, and City Administrator Scott Johnson.
II. WSB Water Study
Tom Roushar provided the City Council with an overview with the water study. The
study provides the City with a plan for the build out of the water infrastructure based on
the 2030 Comprehensive Plan. The new study removes the future water infrastructure
expenses in the southwest corner of Corcoran, bases the water infrastructure/usage on
the policy of not allowing irrigation from the City water system, and reduces the amount
of future infrastructure needed for the build out of the system. Council directed staff to
put together the amount of funds that will be recharacterized for bonding purposes and
to recommend a future water tower site for the City.
III. Concept Review with 292 Design Group and RJM
Pam Anderson from the 292 Design group reviewed the proposed layouts for the future
City Hall, Public Works, and Police facilities. Council provided input on the plans and
this will be included with the revisions. A cost estimate for the facility plans will be
provided at the July 3, 2012, Work Session.
V. ADJOURN
Mayor Crosby adjourned the Work Session at 7:10 p.m.
