RESOLUTION NO. 2000-263 ADOPTED December 12, 2000
A RESOLUTION: AUTHORIZING THE APPROPRIATION OF THE URAN
CONTRIBUTION DATED NOVEMBER 17, 2000
WHEREAS, the town received a $25,000 contribution from Irwin Uran dated November
17, 2000; .and
WHEREAS, the contributor requested that Town Council distribute the gift to services
for the poor and needy people of Leesburg for the holiday season; and
WHEREAS, Town Council has determined that Holiday Coalition, Loudoun Abused
Women's Shelter, Good Shepherd Alliance/Homeless Shelter, NE Coalition, and Salvation
Army meet the grantor's restrictions and should receive equal contributions to be used by
December 31, 2000.
THEREFORE, RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia that
appropriations of the contribution dated November 17, 2000, in the amount of $5,000 are hereby
authorized as follows:
$5,000 to Holiday Coalition
· $5,000 to Loudoun Abused Women's Shelter
$5,000 to the Good Shepherd Alliance/Homeless Shelter
· $5,000 to Northeast Coalition
· $5,000 to Salvation Army
These funds are to be used during the holiday season before December 31, 2000, and are
subject to approval by the town attorney. Each receiving agency must report to the Town
Council how the funds were implemented and how many people were served.
