A RESOLUTION:
AUTHORIZING ISSUANCE OF A REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS
FOR ENGINEERING SERVICES FOR THE CHANCELLOR
STREET EXTENSION AND THE TRAIL CONNECTION TO THE
W&OD TRAIL, AND APPROPRIATING AND MAKING A
TRANSFER OF FUNDS
WHEREAS, Council desires to procure engineering services for construction of a
14-foot wide, paved, emergency vehicle access route extension from the end of Chancellor
Street to Dry Mill Road and a pedestrian trail from Dry Mill Road to the W&OD Trail (the
"Chancellor Street Project") in the general locations shown on the attached map; and
WHEREAS, the Chancellor Street Project is of high priority; and
WHEREAS, the estimated cost of such engineering services is $150,000; and
WHEREAS, Council desires to have Loudoun County participate in the
construction of the trail portion of the Chancellor Street Project.
THEREFORE RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Leesburg, Virginia as
follows:
SECTION I. Staff is authorized to issue a request for proposals for engineering
services for the Chancellor Street Project as soon as possible.
SECTION II. The sum of $150,000 is hereby appropriated for the engineering
services for the Chancellor Street Project, and the Director of Finance is authorized to
transfer $150,000 from the contingency fund for debt reduction to an account to be
established for the Chancellor Street Project.

SECTION 1II. The Town Manager is directed to request that Loudoun County
participate in the cost of the trail portion of the Chancellor Street Project.
