HomeMy Public PortalAbout2001_03_27_r037 The Town of I-Jeesburg, . . . \___ irglnla PRESENTED March 27, 2001 RESOLUTION NO. 2001-37 ADOPTED March 27, 2001 RESOLUTION: FINDING THAT COMPETITIVE SEALED BIDDING IS NEITHER PRACTICABLE NOR FISCALLY ADV ANT AGEOUS TO THE PUBLIC FOR PROCUREMENT OF CERTAIN NEWSPAPER ADVERTISING SERVICES AND DIRECTING THAT SUCH SERVICES BE PROCURED BY COMPETITIVE NEGOTIATION. WHEREAS, the Town needs to procure newspaper advertising services for legal, employment and similar notices; and WHEREAS, factors other than price, such as circulation within Leesburg, are important considerations in contractor selection; and '-- WHEREAS, display advertising will continue to be purchased under the Town's small purchase policy. THEREFORE, RESOLVED, that the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia finds that competitive sealed bidding is neither practicable nor fiscally advantageous to the public for the procurement of such services, and directs that such services, except display ads, be procured by competitive negotiation.
