Absent: Van Heiden. Werkman moved to approve the minutes of the August regular meeting. Hippen seconded the motion. All ayes, carried. Eilderts moved to approve the Treasurer’s Report for August. Meyer seconded the motion. All ayes, carried. Hippen moved to approve the following bills for payment. Eilderts seconded the motion. All ayes, carried. Greg Winger presented the Fire Department Report. Angela Koch presented the Swimming Pool Report. Eilderts moved to pay life guard boneses based on schedule from 2016. Werkman seconded the motion. JR Kennedy and Pat Kennedy requested that the City vacate a portion of Adams Street for expansion of their existing scale. Werkman moved to move forward with procedures to vacate a portion of Adams St. Meyer seconded the motion. All ayes, carried. Nathan Vogel presented the Public Works report. There was further discussion on fall leaf collection. Council made the decision to stop doing fall leaf pickup due to liability, safety and equipment issues. The City will provide a location where citizens can take leaves. Eilderts moved to approve Resolution 09-2017 a resolution accepting the FY 2017 Street Finance Report. Werkman seconded the motion. Roll call of votes. All ayes, carried. Meyer moved to approved Ordinance 09-2017-1 an ordinance amending Chapter 110, natural gas franchise, of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Wellsburg, Iowa. Werkman seconded the motion. Roll call of votes. All ayes, carried. Eilderts moved to waive the second and third reading of the ordinance and pass upon first reading. Werkman seconded the motion. Roll call of votes. All ayes carried. A copy of the full ordinance is available at City Hall. Meyer moved to approved Ordinance 09-2017-2 an ordinance amending Chapter 111, electric franchise, of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Wellsburg, Iowa. Werkman seconded the motion. Roll call of votes. All ayes, carried. Eilderts moved to waive the second and third reading of the ordinance and pass upon first reading. Meyer seconded the motion. Roll call of votes. All ayes carried. A copy of the full ordinance is available at City Hall. Eilderts moved to close Adams St. 09-09-2017 for the BBQ Cook Off. Werkman seconded the motion. All ayes, carried.
