AUTHORIZING THE ALLOCATION OF $31,000 FROM A CONTRIBUTION
FROM IRWIN W. URAN TO THE LOUDOUN COUNTY DEPARTMENT
OF SOCIAL SERVICES JUVENILE DETENTION CENTER
WHEREAS, on October 30, 1998, a donation in the amount of $100,000 was received from Irwin
W. Uran for use in the juvenile detention system; and
WHEREAS, in October 1999, $71,000 of these funds were allocated to the Juvenile Detention
Center to help fund various programs; and
WHEREAS, the Loudoun County Department of Social Services has requested an additional
$31,000 of these funds for their Juvenile Detention Center; and
WHEREAS, a list of proposed uses was submitted to the Mayor; and
WHEREAS, the uses submitted fulfill the desires of Irwin W. Uran and staff recommends that an
allocation of $31,000 be made to the County of Loudoun Juvenile Detention Center.
THEREFORE, RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia as follows:
Funding in the amount of $31,000 is authorized from the Uran funds to the Loudoun County
Juvenile Detention Center to fund a mentoring program and library program.
