WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Riverdale ("City") authorized its Fire Department ("Department")to solicit proposals for the repair of the Compressor used to fill the Airpac SCBA units and related equipment for its firefighters; and, WHEREAS,the Department had solicited proposals from two suppliers ADL LLC and Midwest Breathing Air LLC (See Exhibit A) ; and, WHEREAS, ADL LLC has the lower bid in the amount of$5,586.64 and is able to complete the repairs on site; and: WHEREAS, having reviewed the above proposals for comparability, the Department recommends to hire ADL LLC to the City Council for the amount quoted. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RIVERDALE, SCOTT COUNTY, IN THE STATE OF IOWA: Section 1. That the City shall accept the bid for the repair from ADL LLC in the amount of$5,586.64 and a total amount not to exceed $8,000 in the event additional work is necessary. One quote is from Midwest breathing air for repairing the current compressor at the cost of $5,676.34. The Second quote comes from ADL at the cost of $5,586.64. If we choose to repair the compressor I would suggest we go with ADL at the lower bid. Keep in mind this is a band aid on a 20 year old compressor. This may be the last time we can get parts for this compressor. Option two is to replace the compressor with a new unit.
