HomeMy Public PortalAboutWWMSC MINUTES 2007-02-16 WMSC ASTEWATER ANAGEMENT TEERING OMMITTEE Minutes of February 16, 2007 A meeting of the Wastewater Management Steering Committee was called to order at 1:00 p.m. in the Members Present: Skaket Meeting Room at the Orleans Town Hall. Augusta McKusick (Board of Health); Ann Hodgkinson (Board of Water Commissioners); John Hinckley (Board of Selectmen); Judith Bruce (Conservation Commission); Sims McGrath (Planning Board); George Meservey (Planning Wright-Pierce Representatives: Citizen's Advisory Director); Mike Giggey, Heather Merriman. Committee members:Absent: John Hodgkinson. Robert Donath (Finance Committee). APPROVAL OF MINUTES: February 1, 2007 MOTION: Sims McGrathJudith Bruce On a motion by , seconded by , the Board voted to approve the minutes of February 1, 2007. VOTE:The motion passed unanimously. 5-0-0 COMMITTEE REPORTS: Board of Health - McKusick reported that the Board of Health is in the process of writing the Nitrogen Loading Regulations and will forward them on to other committees and Town Counsel for review and hopes to hold public hearings June 2007. McGrath explained that the Board of Health is looking for input from the remaining Massachusetts Estuaries Project technical reports in order to incorporate information on extent of Orleans that is impacted by nitrogen which would provide opportunity for declaration of nitrogen sensitive areas if that were to become part of the process. Planning Board - McGrath stated that the Planning Board is moving forward with proposed zoning bylaw amendments and will hold an additional public hearing on March 13, 2007 to consider a new proposal for reduced density for multi-family housing in the Rural Business District. Citizen's Advisory Committee - John Hodgkinson reported that the Needs Assessment public hearing on February 26, 2007 will be televised and flyers have been distributed. Other reports - McKusick reported that committee members reviewed the Needs Assessment comments for Department of Environmental Protection and Cape Cod Commission and the project is considered on the right track by all involved. WRIGHT-PIERCE DISCUSSIONS Needs Assessment Michael Giggey noted that the Department of Environmental Protection and Cape Cod Commission comments will be incorporated into the Needs Assessment and Executive Summary documents, dated Wastewater Management Steering Committee Minutes – February 16, 2007 Page 1 of 2 February 2007. The Wastewater Management Steering Committee discussed the option of making a copy of the Needs Assessment document available on the town’s website, at Snow Library and at Town Hall. 2:55 The meeting adjourned at p.m. Respectfully submitted, Karen C.
