Leesburg Parks & Recreation Extends Scholarship Application
Deadline for Wizards + Mystics Summer Basketball Camp
Leesburg, VA (April 30, 2012) – The Town of
Leesburg Parks and Recreation Department has
extended to the deadline for scholarship applications
for the Wizards + Mystics Summer Basketball Camp
until Thursday, May 31, 2012.
The basketball camp is for youth ages 8 through 17
and will be held at the Ida Lee Park Recreation Center
from Monday, July 9, through Friday, July 13, 2012,
9:00am to 4:00pm each day.
Campers will have a unique opportunity to learn and enhance their skills from professional and
collegiate players and coaches. Participants will learn proper techniques on the game’s
fundamentals such as ball handling, shooting, rebounding, defense and team concepts. Each
camper will receive a reversible jersey, a drawstring backpack and a ticket to a 2012 Mystics home
game. In addition, there will be guest appearances by current or former players or coaches. To

2012, the cost is $325.00. After June 1, 2012, camp registration will be $355.00.
A limited number of scholarships will be awarded to Town of Leesburg residents. The youth
participant must meet the scholarship guidelines and submit a one page essay on why they should
be selected. The deadline for scholarship applications has been extended to Thursday, May 31,
2012. Applications will be juried and scholarships will be awarded by June 15, 2012. For a copy of
