RESOLUTION NO. 2001-114 ADOPTED June 26, 2001
A RESOLUTION: AWARDING CONTRACTS FOR PROPERTY, CASUALTY, AND
LIABILITY INSURANCE COVERAGES FOR THE FISCAL YEAR
BEGINNING JULY 1, 2001
WHEREAS, the town received proposals from insurance agents and brokers to provide
the town with property and casualty insurance coverages for the fiscal year beginning July l,
2001, and
WHEREAS, the proposals have been reviewed and evaluated by the town's insurance
consultant, McNeary Insurance Consultants, Inc., and
WHEREAS, McNeary recommends the award of the town's property, casualty, and
liability insurance coverages to The Virginia Municipal League through their Virginia Municipal
Liability Pool with the exception of Airport and Environmental liability, which is recommended
to be awarded to the Hargrove Insurance Agency and Armfield, Harrison & Thomas, Inc.
respectively; and
WHEREAS, the Director of Finance concurs with their recommendation.
THEREFORE, RESOLVED by the Leesburg Town Council that, based upon McNeary's
recommendation, the Town Manager is authorized to enter into contracts for the town's
insurance coverages for fiscal year 2002 as follows:
SECTION I. The town's coverage for property, boiler and machinery, inland marine, and
electronic data processing, public officials, and law enforcement liability, flood and earth
movement, general liability, crime/bond, automobile and garage liability, and umbrella excess
liability be awarded to Virginia Municipal Liability Pool through the Virginia Municipal League,
at a premium of $167,582; and

SECTION II.
through their agent A.W. Hargrove at a premium of $10,525; and
SECTION III. The town's coverage for environmental
American International Specialty Lines Insurance
Insurance Agency at a premium of $9,851.
