A RESOLUTION: PRESENTED July 24, 2001 2001-131 ADOPTED July 24, 2001 NAMING THE IDA LEE PARK LACROSSE FIELD IN HONOR OF JUDGE THOMAS D. HORNE WHEREAS, the Town of Leesburg dedicated Lacrosse Fields on April 2, 2001; and the Ida Lee Park Soccer and WHEREAS, the Leesburg Parks and Recreation Advisory Commission at their June 9, 2001 meeting discussed naming the soccer and lacrosse fields; and WHEREAS, the Commission unanimously recommends naming the lacrosse field in honor of Judge Thomas D. Home; and WHEREAS, Judge Home was the Founder and served as President of the Loudoun County High School Lacrosse Association; and WHEREAS, Judge Home has been involved with Loudoun County lacrosse since 1989, in all aspects of the game including coaching, scheduling games, transporting children to and from games, and cleaning the fields; and WHEREAS, Judge Home also coached his son, who now coaches lacrosse for the Notre Dame Academy; and WHEREAS, the Director of Parks and Recreation recommends approval to name the Ida Lee Park lacrosse field after the Honorable Thomas D. Home. THEREFORE, RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia as follows: The Ida Lee Park lacrosse field is hereby named the Thomas D. Home Lacrosse Field.
