NAMING THE IDA LEE PARK SOCCER FIELD IN HONOR
OF TERR~NCE M. YOUNG
WHEREAS, the Town of Leesburg dedicated the Ida Lee Park Soccer and
Lacrosse Fields on April 2, 2001; and
WHEREAS, the Leesburg Parks and Recreation Advisory Commission at their
June 9, 2001 meeting discussed naming the soccer and lacrosse fields; and
WHEREAS, the Commission unanimously recommends naming the soccer field
in honor of former Chairman of the Leesburg Parks and Recreation Advisory
Commission Terrance Young; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Young served the Town of Leesburg as the second Chairman of
the Leesburg Parks and Recreation Advisory Commission from 1986 to 1997; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Young has been involved with the Loudoun Youth Soccer
Association for more than 20 years, in all aspects of the game including serving as
President, coaching, refereeing, and coordinating and scheduling games; and
WHEREAS, the Director of Parks and Recreation recommends approval to name
the Ida Lee Park soccer field after Terrance M. Young.
THEREFORE, RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia
as follows:
Field.
The Ida Lee Park soccer field is hereby named the Terrance M. Young Soccer
PASSED this 24th day of July 2001.
