ADOPTED July 24, 2001 A RESOLUTION: DIRECTING STAFF TO PROCEED WITH A CHANGE IN DESIGN FOR TIlE FAIRVIEW STREET IMPROVEMENTS FROM A 38-FOOT ROADWAY TO A 32-FOOT ROADWAY WITH 8-FOOT TRAIL AND 4-FOOT SIDEWALK WHEREAS, the Fairview Street Improvements Project is funded by the Town Council through the FY 2002 Capital Improvement Program, and; WHEREAS, in response to several neighborhood meetings, the Town Staff has requested direction from the Council on whether to proceed with a 38-foot roadway with an 8-foot trail and 4- foot sidewalk or to proceed with a 32-foot roadway with an 8-foot trail and 4-foot sidewalk, and; WHEREAS, Staff has made a presentation to Council about the design criteria and the impact on the neighborhood concerning both design alternatives, and; WHEREAS, Staff has recommended this redesign of the roadway. THEREFORE, RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia as follows: Section I: The Town Council hereby authorizes Town Staff to proceed with the re-design of the Fairview Street Improvements Project to include a 32-foot wide roadway with an 8-foot trail on the west side and a 4-foot wide concrete sidewalk on the east side.
