AUTHORIZING AGREEMENTS AND APPROVING
PERFORMANCE GUARANTEES AND WATER AND SEWER
EXTENSION PERMITS FOR EDWARDS LANDING PHASE 2A &
EDWARDS LANDING BATTLEFIELD PARKWAY PHASE II, ROAD
IMPROVEMENTS
WHEREAS, U.S. Homes Corporation, the developer of Edwards Landing Phase 2A &
Edwards Landing Battlefield Parkway Phase II, Road Improvements has requested the approval
of corporate surety bonds from The Continental Insurance Company in the amount of
$983,361.00 for Edwards Landing Phase 2A and $744,850.00 for Edwards Landing Battlefield
Parkway Phase II, Road Improvement to guarantee the public improvements; and
WHEREAS, the Director of Engineering and Public Works recommends approval of a
contract for installation of public improvements and acceptance of performance guarantees for
Edwards Landing Phase 2A & Edwards Landing Battlefield Parkway Phase II, Road
Improvements.
RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia as follows:
SECTION I. The town manager shall execute the contract for public improvements for
the improvements shown on the plans approved by the Director of Engineering and Public
Works for Edwards Landing Phase 2A & Edwards Landing Battlefield Parkway Phase II, Road
Improvements.
SECTION II. The extension of municipal water and sewer for Edwards Landing Phase
2A & Edwards Landing Battlefield Parkway Phase II, Road Improvements are approved in
accordance with Section 15-9 and 19-18 of the Town Code.

SECTION III. The corporate surety bonds in a form approved by the town attorney from
The Continental Insurance Company in the amount of $983,361.00 for Edwards Landing Phase
2A and $744,850.00 for Edwards Landing Battlefield Parkway Phase II, Road Improvements are
approved as security to guarantee installation of the public improvements shown on plans
approved by the Director of Engineering and Public Works for Edwards Landing Phase 2A &
Edwards Landing Battlefield Parkway Phase II, Road Improvements.
PASSED this 14tn day of August 2001.
