Two More Leesburg Staff Members Volunteer to Take a
“Pie in the Face” in Relay For Life Fundraiser
Leesburg, VA (May 2, 2012) – Two new
volunteers will put their faces on the
line in Friday’s “pie in the face”
fundraiser for Western Loudoun Relay
For Life. The event will take place on
Friday, May 4, 2012, at 5:30 p.m. on the
Town Green in front of the Leesburg
Town Hall (25 West Market Street).
The two new volunteers are Norm
Butts, Leesburg’s Director of Finance,
and John Creamer, the Town’s Utility
Maintenance Manager. Spectators at
previous “pie in the face” events may remember John Creamer as a past “pie thrower” who has
now stepped up to take one in the face. Butts and Creamer will be joined the following
additional six volunteers:
• Vice Mayor Kevin Wright
• Council Member Marty Martinez
• Town Manager John Wells (pictured above with Kelly Burk in 2010)
• Department of Plan Review Director Bill Ackman
• Technology and Communications Committee Chair JB Anderson
• Heritage High School Athletic Director Ron Petrella
The bidding is heating up! The bidding begins at $50 and the highest bidder for each gets the
privilege of throwing the pie. Interested pie-throwers can submit bids to Nancy Fixx at
nfixx@leesburgva.gov or 703-771-2707. In addition, live bids will be taken at the event, before
each pie is tossed.
All donations collected from the “Pie in the Face” event will go directly to the American Cancer
Society's Western Loudoun Relay For Life.

This year's Western Loudoun Relay for Life will be held at Heritage High School in Leesburg,
beginning on Saturday, June 2, 2012, with the "Survivors Lap" at 6:00 p.m. and continuing
through Sunday, June 3, 2012, at 6:00 a.m. Cancer Survivors are invited to attend a Survivor
Dinner from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. For more information on the Western Loudoun Relay for Life,
