HomeMy Public PortalAbout2001_09_25_r160The Town of 1 .eesburg, trg ma RESOLUTION NO. 2001-160 A RESOLUTION: PRESENTED September 25, 2001 ADOPTED September 25, 2001 APPROVING TOWN ATTORNEY'S EMPLOYMENT AGREEMENT WHEREAS, Council desires to continue to employ the services of William E. Donnelly, III as Town Attorney as provided by Section 15.2-1542 of the Code of Virginia; and WHEREAS, it is the desire of the Council to provide certain benefits, establish certain conditions of employment and to set working conditions of the Town Attorney; and WHEREAS, it is the desire of the Council to (1) secure and retain the services of the Town Attorney and to provide inducement for him to remain in such employment, (2) to make possible full work productivity by assuring the Town Attorney's morale and peace of mind with respect to future security, (3) to act as a deterrent against malfeasance or dishonesty for personal gain on the part of the Town Attorney, and (4) to provide a just means for terminating the Town Attorney's services at such time as the Council desires to do so; and WHEREAS, outside counsel, Roger Wiley, has approved the attached Employment Agreement; and WHEREAS, William E. Donnelly, III desires to continue to be employed as Town Attorney. -2- A RESOLUTION: APPROVING TOWN ATTORNEY'S EMPLOYMENT AGREEMENT THEREFORE, RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia that the Mayor is authorized to execute the attached Employment Agreement on behalf of the Town.
