A RESOLUTION: 2001-162 PRESENTED ADOPTED September 25, 2001 September 25, 2001 AUTHORIZING THE TOWN MANAGER TO SIGN A GRANT AGREEMENT WITH THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT IN THE AMOUNT OF $643,581 FOR PRESERVATION AND INFRASTRUCTURE IMPROVEMENTS AT DODONA MANOR, AND A RELATED SUB -GRANT AGREEMENT WITH THE GEORGE C. MARSHALL HOME PRESERVATION FUND. WHEREAS, Dodona Manor in Leesburg is the early nineteenth century home of General George C. Marshall that is a National Historic Landmark open to the public; and WHEREAS, the George C. Marshall Home Preservation Fund, Inc. owns and operates the George C. Marshall International Center at Dodona Manor (the "Center"); and WHEREAS, pursuant to Public Law 106-377 and House Report 106-988, the Congress directed the Department of Housing and Urban Development ("HUD") to provide funding in the amount of $643,581 for "preservation and infrastructure improvements" for the Center (the "Grant"); and WHEREAS, HUD proposes to provide such funding under a grant agreement between HUD and the Town; and WHEREAS, the Town and the Center desire to clarify their roles and responsibilities for the Grant. that: THEREFORE, RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia -2- A RESOLUTION: AUTHORIZING THE TOWN MANAGER TO SIGN GRANT AGREEMENTS... SECTION I. The Town Manager is authorized to sign a grant agreement with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development in the amount of $643,581 for preservation and infrastructure improvements at Dodona Manor. SECTION II. The Town Manager is authorized to sign a sub-grant agreement with the George C. Marshall Home Preservation Fund setting forth the terms and conditions under which they will administer the Grant. PASSED this 25tn day of September, 2001. ATTEST: ~[erk of Council B.J.
