A RESOLUTION: MAKING AN APPOINTMENT TO THE THOMAS BALCH LIBRARY
COMMISSION
WHEREAS, participation by public-spirited citizens on town boards and commissions is vital to
the success of town government and the democratic process; and
WHEREAS, boards and commissions serve an indispensable role in providing recommendations
concerning town policy and programs; and
WHEREAS, Council desires to appoint effective individuals to serve at its will and pleasure on
these advisory boards; and
WHEREAS, on July 24, 2000, Council adopted Resolution No. 2000-148 establishing a
procedure concerning appointment of individuals to town boards and commissions.
WHEREAS, a vacancy exists due to the resignation of Mary E. Ingram.
THEREFORE, RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia as follows:
Francis R. Fera is appointed to the Thomas Balch Library Commission to fill the unexpired term vacated
by Mary E. Ingram. The term for this appointment will expire on June 30, 2002.
