A RESOLUTION: AUTHORIZING AGREEMENTS AND APPROVING PERFORMANCE
GUARANTEES AND A SEWER EXTENSION PERMIT FOR STRATFORD-
RYLAND SANITARY SEWER RELOCATION; LAKE FACILITY; AND
STORMWATER MANAGEMENT POND
WHEREAS, The Ryland Group, Inc., the developer of the Stratford-Ryland Sanitary Sewer
Relocation; Lake Facility; and Stormwater Management Pond has requested the approval a corporate
surety bonds from the Travelers Casualty and Surety Company of America in the amount of $219,305.90
for the Sanitary Sewer Relocation; $414,306.00 for the Lake Facility; and $1,324,168.00 for the
Stormwater Management Pond to guarantee the public improvements; and
WHEREAS, the Director of Engineering and Public Works recommends approval of contracts for
installation of public improvements and acceptance of performance guarantees for Stratford-Ryland
Sanitary Sewer Relocation; Lake Facility; and Stormwater Management Pond.
RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia as follows:
SECTION I. The town manager shall execute the contxacts for public improvements for the
improvements shown on the plans approved by the Director of Engineering and Public Works for
Stratford-Ryland Sanitary Sewer Relocation; Lake Facility; and Stormwater Management Pond.
SECTION II. The extension of municipal sewer for the Stratford-Ryland Sanitary Sewer
Relocation is approved in accordance with Section 15-9 of the Town Code.
SECTION III. The corporate surety bonds in a form approved by the town attorney from the
Travelers Casualty and Surety Company of America in the amounts of $219,305.90, $414,306.00 and
$1,324,168.00 are approved as security to guarantee installation of the public improvements shown on
plans approved by the Director of Engineering and Public Works for Stratford-Ryland Sanitary Sewer
Relocation; Lake Facility; and Stormwater Management Pond.
