Leesburg Arts & Cultural District Hosts Two Arts Showcases
During Downtown’s First Friday Celebration on May 4, 2012
Leesburg, VA (May 3, 2012) – On Friday, May 4th the
Leesburg Arts & Cultural District will present two new "The
Best of Loudoun Performing Arts" and "Loudoun Artists @
Work" showcases from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. during the
monthly First Friday event in Historic Downtown
Leesburg.
"The Best of Loudoun Performing Arts" showcase will be
held on the Leesburg Town Green at 25 West Market
Street and will feature selections from The Three Quests of
Princess Camilla as performed by the Stage Coach Theatre
Company. These exciting performances will begin every
half hour, starting at 6:00 p.m., and will feature songs and
sword-fighting play!
The "Loudoun Artists @ Work" showcase will take place at 2B Loudoun Street SE. This month's
featured artists include Doris Kidder, Steve Loya, Catherine Obreza Fetterman, and Dave
White, plus special guest artists Kevin Muller and Laurie Smith. Do not miss this
unique opportunity to see these artists in action and learn to create masterpieces of your own!
The Leesburg Arts & Cultural District was established in 2011 to provide certain incentives to
artists and arts organizations looking to make Leesburg their home. Incentives such as business
and professional occupation license tax rebates, real estate tax rebates and zoning permit
exemptions are offered. Additionally, through the growth, expansion and concentration of arts
uses, all businesses, residents and visitors will benefit from the overall vitality of the district
over time through various events and programming. The Leesburg Arts & Cultural District logo
was designed by N2 Designs, through a design competition. For more information, please visit
