AUTHORIZING A PURCHASE CONTRACT WITH ATLANTIC
MACHINERY, INC. IN THE AMOUNT OF $114,227.00 FOR A
SCHWARZE A7000 STREET SWEEPER
WHEREAS, the FY02 Capital Improvement Program includes a project for the replacement of a
1994 Elgin Street Sweeper; and
WHEREAS, the Town's Procurement Policy allows for the participation in cooperative
procurements with one or more other public bodies for the purpose of combining requirements to increase
efficiency or reduce administrative expenses; and
WHEREAS, Arlington County, Virginia has an existing contract with Atlantic Machinery, Inc.
for the equipment which meets the Town's specifications; and
WHEREAS, the purchase price of the Schwarze Model A7000 Street Sweeper is $123,627 less a
trade-in allowance for the 1994 Elgin Sweeper of $9,400.00 for a contract price of $114,227.00; and
WHEREAS, sufficient funds are included in the FY2002 Budget for the purchase of a street
sweeper; and
WHEREAS, the' Town's Procurement Policy requires Town Council approval of contracts
$100,000.00 or greater; and
WHEREAS, the Director of Engineering and Public Works recommends issuing of a purchase
contract in the amount of $114,227.00 to Atlantic Machinery, Inc. for the purchase of a replacement for
the 1994 Elgin Street Sweeper.
THEREFORE, RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia as follows:
The Town Manager is authorized to sign the purchase requisition for a Schwarze A7000 Street
Sweeper for fiscal year 2002 from Atlantic Machinery, Inc. in the amount (~f $114,227.00.
