RESOLUTION NO. 2001-189 ADOPTED November 14, 2001
A RESOLUTION: AUTHORIZING THE DONATION OF SURPLUS PROPERTY
WHEREAS, each year the Town of Leesburg declares surplus equipment and vehicles
for disposal; and
WHEREAS, the town manager is authorized to advertise and sell surplus equipment and
vehicles with the exception of items to be donated to certain volunteer organizations in
accordance with the procedures implemented by the Finance Department; and
WHEREAS, the Citizens' Support Team Inc. has requested the donation of two police
vehicles that are intended to be declared surplus property for disposal, with one donated vehicle
to replace an existing vehicle used by the Citizens Support Team; and
WHEREAS, staff recommends the donation of these vehicles to the Citizens Support
Team.
THEREFORE, RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia as
follows:
The town manager is authorized to donate these police cars to the Citizens' Support Team
Inc. once they have been declared surplus property for disposal or taken out of commission.
