A RESOLIYrlON:
AWARDING A CONTRACT TO Vv~rlITMAN, REQUARDT, AND
ASSOCIATES, TJ.P, IN THE AMOUNT OF $203,617.00 FOR
ENGINEERING SERVICES RELATING TO WATER TANK SITING
AND LOW PRESSURE COMPLAINT EVALUATION
WHEREAS, the adopted 1987 Water and Sewer System Master Plan identified several sites
for proposed elevated water storage tanks; and
WHEREAS, growth, in and around Leesburg, has created a need for additional water
storage and construction of these tanks; and
WHEREAS, several homeowners have expressed concern over low water pressure at their
residences; and
WHEREAS, a request for proposals was issued for engineering services relating to this
project; and
WHEREAS, the selection committee received ten proposals, of which four were short listed
and interviewed; and
WHEREAS, the engineering firm of Whitman, Requardt, and Associates, 1J.P was selected
as the top firm for the preliminary study phase by the committee; and
WHEREAS, the Director of Utilities recommends award of the Preliminary Engineering
Services contract to Whitman, Requardt, & Associates, 1J .P, in the amount of $203,617.00.
THEREFORE, RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia as
follows:
A RESOLUTION: AWARDING AN ENGINEERING SERVICES CONTRACT...
The Town Manager is hereby directed to enter into an agreement with Whitman,
Requardt, & Associates, I.I.P, in a form approved by Town Attorney, for engineering services, in
the amount of $203,617.00.
