RESOLUTION NO. 2001-210 ADOPTED December 11, 2001
A RESOLUTION: AUTHORIZING THE TOWN MANAGER TO EXECUTE A
CONTRACT WITH TROUTMAN, SANDERS, MAYS AND
VALENTINE IN AN AMOUNT OF $175,000 AND MAKING AN
APPROPRIATION OF FUNDS
WHEREAS, Town Council on November 27, 2001 approved a proposal for annexation
of certain areas within Loudoun County and authorized the employment of special legal counsel
to accomplish the objectives set forth therein; and
WHEREAS, it is imperative that legal counsel proceed as soon as possible to meet the
Commission on Local Government deadline of February 15, 2002; and
WHEREAS, a proposal has been submitted by the law firm of Troutman, Sanders, Mays
& Valentine for the estimated expenses to complete the Town's filing and general advice; and
WHEREAS, it is required that a supplemental appropriation and amendment of the Fiscal
Year 2002 Budget be made to pay for legal services.
THEREFORE, RESOLVED that the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia hereby
authorizes amending the Fiscal Year 2002 Budget in the amount of $175,000 for annexation
legal services and authorizing the appropriation of $87,500 from the General Fund Fiscal Year
2001 Year End Fund Balance, and $87,500 from the Utility Fund Surplus.
