Funding for these replacement buses would come from FTA Section 5310 funds . These funds are administrated by the Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT), and must be used for the transport of senior citizens and the individuals with disabilities. If approved, the 5310 program would provide the majority of funding for the purchase of transit rolling stock, replacing the oldest two Handiwheels buses with an average of over 160,000 miles each. Federal funds for the buses are estimated to be $97,465 .60 while the local share is estimated to be $40 ,396.40 . The local source of funds is JEFFTRAN's portion of the Capital Improvement Program (CIP). JEFFTRAN makes modifications to bus floor plans in order to 1) prov ide standardization and 2) be as efficient as possible with a flexible floor plan and 3) enhance and standardize security by upgrading cameras, and MoDOT does not participate in these modifications. If approved , we anticipate the delivery of the replacement buses in late summer 2017 . Please call me if you have any questions .
