ADOPTING THE DEPICTION OF TOWN
TOWN OF LEESBURG CORPORATE SEAL

HALL AS THE OFFICIAL
WHEREAS, on November 12, 1860 the Town Council adopted a seal of the corporation of
the Town of Leesburg depicting the Loudoun County Courthouse of 1811; and
WHEREAS, on March 8, 1978 the Town Council approved Resolution #78-49, which
reconfirmed the use of the Courthouse seal; and
WHEREAS, following the construction of the new Town Hall in 1990, the town government
began displaying a seal depicting the eight-sided section of Town Hall on letterheads and vehicles;
and
WHEREAS, the Council desires to adopt the depiction of Town Hall as the official
corporation seal as one befitting a modern Virginia town; and
WHEREAS, the staff recommends this action.
THEREFORE, RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia as follows:
1. A seal depicting Town Hall shall be the Town of Leesburg corporation seal.
2. A copy of the said seal shall be displayed on all official documents and letters, as well as
all vehicles and street furniture of the town.
